Jaywalking doesn’t even bother me when there’s no traffic conflict. If there are no vehicles approaching, eh, go for it. What do I care.

But to just assume that nobody’s coming? Really? Not even gonna look ?

I mean they probably had the right of way to cross in the crosswalk, which no doubt emboldened them. That’s a bit far to cut it on the diagonal though, especially when there is actually a car.
